Former MLB commissioner Bud Selig to keynote Wisconsin Veteran Chamber's conference
"Bud Selig, the former commissioner of Major League Baseball and member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, will keynote the Wisconsin Veterans Business Conference in May, which is expected to draw the largest crowd in its four-year history.
Selig is a Milwaukee native who maintains a residence in Bayside and offices downtown. He served as commissioner of baseball from 1998 through 2014 and acting commissioner from 1992 to 1998.
The conference, regarded as the premier gathering of the veteran business community, will take place May 23 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and is being presented by the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. The conference will include a veteran business expo featuring more than 150 veteran-owned and veteran-friendly businesses.
There are 65,000 veteran-owned businesses in Wisconsin that employ 168,000 people across the state, Saul Newton, executive director of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, previously told the Milwaukee Business Journal. Veteran-owned businesses in Wisconsin generate $29.1 billion in annual revenue, Newton said."
