Veterans Small Business Champion Award Winner: Curtis L. Schmitt, Jr.

SCORE/SBA Small Business Awards
Veterans Small Business Champion: Curtis L. Schmitt, Jr.

Curtis received the Veterans Small Business Champion Award presented by SCORE and SBA. Curtis was nominated by Saul Newton (2018 winner).

As the membership director for the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce and in previous positions, and as a veteran himself, Curtis Schmitt has dedicated himself to helping veteran entrepreneurs. He has worked with them individually to create business plans, marketing plans, and exit strategies. He has fostered the business growth of Chamber members by positioning them as thought leaders at their events and providing networking opportunities.

The Chamber's new business incubator, Command Post, provides a year of business coaching and conference space to ten veterans at no charge. Curtis has collaborated with SBA resource partners WWBIC and the Veteran's Business Outreach Center to help veterans gain access to capital.

Curtis volunteers with Soldiers' Angels to send care packages to veterans around the world with Stars and Stripes Honor Flights and with many other organizations.
Congratulations Curtis!
