How The Chamber Can Help - Message from the Executive Director
Members, volunteers, and supporters:
Like many of you, we have been closely monitoring the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and acting as quickly as possible to ensure our members and community are informed, have access to the resources they need, and receive support and assistance to make it through this period with as little interruption as possible.
The Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, along with our partners in the public and private sectors, is here for situations like this- when veterans, service members, and their families need assistance, or when our state’s veteran business community is in need of support- we are there. It’s fair to say that many individuals and businesses across the state are in need of assistance and support, and we’re here to provide it. There’s no resource out of reach, no course of action too fast, and no commitment too deep when it comes to ensuring the success of Wisconsin’s veteran business community.
The first step to overcoming this crisis is sharing accurate, reliable information as quickly as possible. We have compiled a COVID-19 Member Guide with information and resources for business owners, employers, and service providers. This situation is rapidly changing, and we will share relevant information with all of you as quickly as we can. Be sure to subscribe to our email newsletter to receive the most up to date information as it becomes available.
As quarantines, shutdowns, and social distancing extend, businesses and individuals are going to need resources to help them make it through this period. We are very fortunate to have a broad and deep network of resource providers and assistance- from the public sector, nonprofit and community organizations, and private sector partners. We will be sharing information about those resources as they become available, and we encourage all of you to lean on us. Call, email, or message at any time and we will be there for you. We are committed to continuing to provide our members with benefits and value to help them grow and support their business. While we have had to postpone events through April 9, we will proactively ensure we are providing our members with cost savings, marketing and promotion, and direct assistance. Meanwhile, we’ll be offering as much information on business, workforce, and community development on our digital platforms, including social media and our website. The needs of our members, challenges facing businesses, and support required by veterans, service members, and their families have not stopped due to this crisis, and therefore neither will we.
Lastly, we must remember that military service members and their families are particularly impacted at this time. As Wisconsin National Guard soldiers and airmen are activated and sent into harm’s way, and military families' lives are disrupted by travel bans and workplace changes, we must do what we can as a business community to ensure those serving our state and country, as well as their families, are supported. Veterans, service members, and their families know what it means to be resilient. We know how to rally around each other, and we know not to leave anyone behind. Our community is strong. Together, there is nothing we can’t accomplish and no challenge we can’t overcome. We’re in this together, and we will get through this together.
