Corporate Veterans Roundtable

December 7, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

$15 – $25

Wisconsin’s veterans and their families are an integral part of our workplaces. Employers recognize the value of their veteran employees, and are actively seeking to recruit and retain veteran talent to fill critical needs in their workforce. Many organizations are investing in establishing a veteran-friendly culture through veteran employee affinity programs. The Corporate Veterans Roundtable is dedicated to supporting organizations as they create, grow, and sustain their corporate veteran affinity programs through sharing of best practices, guidance and mentorship, and collaborative approaches to supporting veterans in southeastern Wisconsin.

Join us on December 7 at the G4S Secure Solutions office in Milwaukee from 800am-930am. The event will feature Dr. Jean Marie Pyzyk discussing member recruitment and engagement, a presentation from community partners, and a round-robin session for affinity groups to provide updates, share their activities, and share their plans for the future.

Presenter: Dr. Jean Marie Pyzyk

Jean Marie Pyzyk is the founder and owner of JM George Consulting | Learning and Development Company. Dr. Pyzyk holds a Ph.D. in Adult, Continuing, and Higher Education Leadership, and a Master of Science degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; a Master’s degree in Adult Education along with a secondary teaching license from Carroll University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

As a citizen-soldier, Major Pyzyk served as a medic from 1984 (Airman Basic) until 1991(Staff Sergeant) before accepting an officer commission as a Medical Service Corps Officer with the 440th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve, and retired with the rank of Major in 2008. In 1991, she deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and in 2004, Operation Iraqi Freedom. During her military career, Major Pyzyk also worked full-time as a high school English teacher, and school administrator until 2010. She continued working as a professional educator with Northwestern Mutual, and currently works full-time as a Learning and Development Specialist with FedEx Ground headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, Dr. Pyzyk teaches graduate students at Carroll University as an adjunct instructor one night a week. Her career goal is to work full-time for her veteran-owned company, JM George Consulting, by 2019.

As a retired military officer she continues to volunteer in support of all military veterans. Dr. Pyzyk is a member of the 128th Air National Guard Community Council; she sits on an advisory committee for the Milwaukee Veterans Network (VetsNet); is a lifetime member of the Reserve Officers Association, and Post 400 Harley-Davidson American Legion. Dr. Pyzyk recognizes she could never have successfully balanced her full-time civilian jobs, Air Force Reserve career, and college courses without the love and unconditional support of her husband of 21 years, Attorney Roger Pyzyk, and her amazing community of family, extended family, and lifelong friends.
